Primus Standard Audit (PSA)

The Primus Standard Audit (PSA) is a non-GFSI audit which focuses on Food Safety within the Agricultural Sector and includes horticultural, grains and pulses. The PSA is a great stepping stone to a GFSI level audit, for example a PrimusGFS audit.

PSA’s Defines Two Fundamental Areas:

  • Good Agricultural Practice (GAP) and/or Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) 
  • Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) System

PSA Certification Options (Version 20.06):

  • GAP – Farm, Harvest Crew & Indoor Agriculture
  • GMP (without HACCP) – Packinghouse, Storage & Distribution, Cooling & Cold Storage
  • GMP (with HACCP) – Packinghouse, Cooling & Cold Storage, Processing
  • Preventive Controls – voluntary addendum following FSMA’s PC for Human Food Rule

V20.06 offers the option of remote auditing as an alternative to on-site inspections.​
